Job Purpose / Objective

This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in a Supervisor Development Program for Barge Engineers within Arabian Drilling. Selected candidates will undergo a comprehensive training program designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a supervisory role. The program combines classroom learning, on-the-job training, and practical experience on an offshore drilling rig, fostering a well-rounded understanding of barge engineering operations and leadership principles.

Key Accountabilities

Training and Development:
•    Actively participate in the Supervisor Development Program, attending all scheduled classroom training sessions.
•    Complete assigned learning modules covering topics relevant to barge operations, leadership skills, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
•    Shadow Barge Master and Supervisors, observing their work practices and gaining practical exposure to offshore drilling operations.
•    Participate in on-the-job training exercises under the guidance of experienced personnel, gradually taking on increasing responsibility.
•    Prepare regular reports documenting learning progress, observations, and reflections on practical experiences.

Operational Support:
•    Assist Barge Master and Supervisors in various aspects of barge engineering operations, following established procedures and safety protocols.
•    Contribute to the planning and execution of routine and non-routine barge master tasks.
•    Participate in pre-job briefings, ensuring clear understanding of assigned tasks and potential hazards.
•    Develop problem-solving skills by assisting in identifying and resolving operational challenges under supervision.

Communication and Collaboration:
•    Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other personnel on the rig, fostering a collaborative work environment.
•    Practice clear and concise communication to ensure accurate information exchange and task completion.
•    Actively participate in team meetings and discussions, demonstrating strong listening and learning skills.

Safety and Compliance:
•    Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to all company safety procedures and regulations.
•    Actively participate in safety drills and training sessions.
•    Report any observed safety hazards or unsafe work practices to supervisors promptly.
