Job Purpose / Objective

Role and responsibility are to perform general labor duties, cargo work and general maintenance. 

Key Accountabilities 1

• Ensure personal safety and safety of the crew members.
• Perform manual labor work around the deck areas of the rig. 
• Preform maintenance duties on the rig which includes cleaning of decks, bulkheads and equipment, scraping, preparing paint & painting etc. 
• Safely assist Crane Operations in the handing of materials, tubular and other equipment.
• Roustabout is empowered and encouraged he has the right and the responsibility to “Stop the Job” if he feels that he has not received adequate specific instructions pertaining to the job task, does not know how to carry out a task or if he feels it is unsafe to proceed for any reason. He must report to his supervisor.
• Inspect lifting gear before use. Also, use rigging and slinging techniques.
• Assist in the care, maintenance, preparation and stacking of tubular on deck. 
• Relieve Floorhands on the drill floor during break times. 
• Assist in the preparation and mixing of the Drilling Fluid (mud).
• Assist other departments when required. 
• Perform the duties with the correct use of hand tools. 
• Member of the Emergency Response Team performing duties as required by Station Bill.
• Any other duties that are assigned by the Supervisor.

Relevant Experience/ Skills – Minimum

• Experienced with heavy outdoor work (in extreme summer heat). 
• Oil field background is preferrable. 
• Read and Write Arabic.
• Ability to communicate in English (read, write, speak and understand) is preferrable.
• Ability to use hand tools and power tools.
