Job Purpose / Objective

Heavy Duty Driver is primarily responsible of the Truck / Trailer he is driving and various loads he is moving. Considering the nature of OFSAT’s business, H.D. Driver should have a previous experience in rig moving, familiar with rig components and loads, capable of driving Heavy Duty Trucks including but not limited to Oilfield Beds and Tractors, experienced to drive and operate truck mounted with Winch.

Key Accountabilities 1

  • Attend all Safety Meetings including but not limited to pre-move and post-move meetings.
  • Get familiar with roads, terrain, know the destination.
  • Follow instructions and directives given by the Supervisor / Truck Pusher and or Convoy Leader.
  • Ensure compliance with all Departments of Transportation and Traffic rules and regulations; moreover OFSAT and in abidance with its Owner / Client Arabian Drilling Company “ADC” has enforced complex driving restrictions.
  • Take rest periods during trips
  • Follow all applicable traffic laws and company regulations.
  • Fill up diesel, monitor level of fuel considering the trip length versus consumption.
  • Report serious mechanical problems to direct Supervisor.
  • Prepare truck for loading goods intended for delivery to designated location(s) after securing the load
  • Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs reporting it immediately to the Supervisor.
  • Take special precautions while driving, most loads are considered “Critical” hence special attention to heavy, oversize and high loads.
  • Inspect Truck/Trailer before and after the trip completing the “Check List” provided by the company, record and report any defects found.
