Job Purpose / Objective

This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in a Supervisor Development Program for Chief Electricians within Arabian Drilling. Candidates will undergo a comprehensive training program designed to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in a supervisory role. The program combines classroom learning, on-the-job training, and practical experience on an offshore or onshore drilling rig, fostering a well-rounded understanding of electrical systems, maintenance procedures, and leadership principles.

Key Accountabilities

Training and Development:
•    Actively participate in the Supervisor Development Program, attending all scheduled classroom training sessions.
•    Complete assigned learning modules covering topics relevant to electrical systems operation and maintenance, troubleshooting, leadership skills, safety protocols, and industry best practices.
•    Shadow experienced Chief Electricians and Supervisors, observing their work practices and gaining practical exposure to rig electrical maintenance activities.
•    Participate in on-the-job training exercises under your supervisor's guidance, gradually taking on increasing responsibility.
•    Prepare regular reports documenting learning progress, observations, and reflections on practical experiences.

Electrical Systems Operations and Maintenance (Offshore/Onshore):
•    Assist Chief Electricians and Supervisors in various aspects of electrical systems operation and maintenance for drilling equipment, machinery, and associated systems (adaptable based on rig location).
•    Contribute to the planning and execution of routine and non-routine maintenance tasks, ensuring electrical system reliability and operational efficiency.
•    Develop proficiency in utilizing computerized maintenance management systems (SAP) for effective work order management and equipment history tracking.
•    Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and address electrical system malfunctions.
•    Work collaboratively with other disciplines (e.g., Mechanics, Instrument Technicians) to ensure successful completion of maintenance activities.

Leadership and Supervision (Gradual):
•    As skills develop, begin to take on supervisory responsibilities under guidance, leading and motivating a team of electricians and technicians.
•    Delegate tasks effectively, providing clear instructions and ensuring adherence to safety protocols, maintenance procedures, and work schedules.
•    Monitor team performance, providing feedback, coaching, and promoting continuous improvement in electrical maintenance practices.

Communication and Collaboration:
•    Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and other personnel on the rig, fostering a collaborative work environment.
•    Practice clear and concise communication with team members and other departments, ensuring accurate information exchange and efficient task completion.
•    Actively participate in team meetings and discussions, demonstrating strong listening and learning skills.

Safety and Compliance:
•    Demonstrate a strong commitment to safety by adhering to all company safety procedures and regulations specific to the offshore or onshore environment.
•    Actively participate in safety drills and training sessions related to electrical hazards.
•    Ensure safe work practices are followed by the team and report any observed safety hazards or unsafe work practices to supervisors promptly.

Key Accountabilities..

Relevant Experience

•    Experience with troubleshooting and diagnostics of electrical systems (a plus).
•    Familiarity with preventive maintenance procedures and scheduled inspections for electrical equipment (a plus).
