Job Purpose
The Chief Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and optimal performance of all equipment by directing maintenance activities, troubleshooting mechanical issues, and implementing preventative maintenance programs. This focus on maximizing equipment uptime and safety extends to reporting directly to the Preventive Maintenance Manager, performing duties in mechanical equipment maintenance and repair, parts ordering, and administering the preventative maintenance system (PMS).

Total Years of Experience (Minimum)
· 10 years in onshore and offshore drilling operations. 3 Years of experience as a Chief Mechanic
Relevant Experience
- Should have previous experience and direct exposure to rig drilling equipment.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a mechanical maintenance team.
- Extensive experience diagnosing and repairing complex mechanical problems on drilling rigs.
- Proven ability to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and procedures in the oil and gas industry.
